We would love to have you as part of the next chapter of our growth story!Position OverviewThe Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading the engineering team in providing outstanding engineering services to external and internal customers and cross-functional partners and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost of assigned manufacturing sites.
This position provides project management support and trains staff on new and or updated processes and standards to ensure smooth and successful transitions.
Duties and Responsibilities Lead engineering team to ensure their processes and work activities are effective and efficient including but not limited to engineering changes and quotation processes.
Oversee engineering quotation process.
Identify, plan, and lead cross-functional teams.
Accountable for new product launch activities and improvements to existing products for assigned sites.
Work in conjunction with other departments to improve safety, product quality, processes, delivery, increase efficiency and reduce cost.
Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing, six sigma and A-3 problem solving techniques to enhance safety, quality, delivery, reliability, and cost.
Identify, plan, and lead capital and operations improvement projects.
Introduce new equipment, methods, and processes to improve existing operations.
Design testing methods and calculate process capabilities to establish standards or validate process requirements.
Design, develop, and implement control systems to improve production cycles times, product quality, equipment performance, downtime reduction and process automation.
Utilize statistical means to optimize and improve performance.
Analyze data and identify trends to determine improvements and reduce variations.
Set goals for the engineering department and develop and implement plans to achieve targets.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment 3 years of experience supervising an engineering team in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated success working in and leading cross functional teams including project management Proven track record of driving significant efficiency improvements and cost reduction initiatives Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with opposing opinions and capable of leading team towards best outcome Demonstrated problem solver with high degree of analytical skills Passionate about continuous improvement and teamwork Organized self-starter Proficient in Microsoft applications, Computer Aided Design and Enterprise Resource Planning software systems Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of plastic molding processes beneficial Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit; and use hands to type and write.
The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
Occasionally the employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and reach with hands and arms (e.
g.
climbing stairs, filing paperwork at, above, and below shoulder height).
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects such as boxes of 15-25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus to watch video monitor.
The employee is required to work in an office environment with frequent visits to the production area which is not climate controlled.
